KSU is at 9:00am.  On Day 3 we're planning a scenic ride out south of Ruidoso. This ride will take in some beautiful roads heading down to Cloudcroft where there are some great views of White Sands according to Robert. From there we will ride on to Alamagordo for Fuel and Lunch at Rockin BZ Burgers. After lunch we'll head out to White Sands National Park, "like no place else on earth." There is a small cost of about $20 to get into the park if you aren't a national park pass holder. White Sands is optional, but I've never seen it and would really like to at least seeit while we're this close. From White Sands we'll head back north to McGinnis Pistachio Land, the home of the Worlds Largest Pistachio Nut!. We can't pass that up! Its also one of the 10 for 24 destinations, so if you get your picture taken with the ride guide you can send it in for a challenge coin. Ask Scott Herrin about this. From there its north again to Tularosa where we head back east on 70 to Ruidoso. Its only 140 miles but it promises to be a good one.

Ride legs and miles:
44 miles - US70 south out of Ruidoso to 244, 244 wiggles through reservation to Cloudcroft
16 miles - On to Alamagordo for Gas/Lunch. Gas at Texaco on way into town. Lunch at Rockin BZ Burgers
18 miles - On to White Sands National Park (Entry Fee about $20 unless you’re a national park pass holder)
23 miles - On to McGinnis Pistachio Land - home of largest pistachio and HD 10 for 24 photo stop
39 miles - North to Tularosa, then back on 70 to Ruidoso
est KSD about 3:30 depending on stops
