Howdy Pardners!!! It's time to saddle and mount up to head to the place where Teddy Roosevelt and all the cattle barons congregated nestled up next to the Alamo!! A couple of years has passed since we've stayed at the historic Mengar Hotel in beautiful downtown San Antonio. This Level 4 adventure will go KSU at 7:30 am from the Pavilion at CTHD for a ride through some ranch lands before sneaking into town arriving at the Mengar around 1:30ish. We'll mosey down towards Bastrop ( for a bio / hydration stop ) and onwards through Luling to Sequin where we'll stop for vittles at Kirby's Corner to put on the feedbag before pushing forward to the Alamo City. Once at the hotel, we'll be parking under the cover at the valet parking location where our steel ponies will be under the watchful eyes of the staff.
Here's the link to reserve your room.
Once we check in, it's time to hit the pool and possibly an adult beverage! Also have the option to explore downtown for some retail therapy!! We'll gather in the lobby about 6:00 pm to venture down to the Riverwalk for dinner. Afterwards, you'll be free to explore all that the Riverwalk offers, including the Harley shop overlooking the river!!
Sunday morning after breakfast, which the Hotel has an excellent restaurant, we'll gather up for our return excursion back to the motherland about 8:30 to our KSD location in Lago Vista with a gas / hydration / bio stop in Johnson City. Should be in Lago shortly after noon.
So saddle up and join the Esquire and Tex for this excellent journey to the land of some major Texas history!!! Who knows, maybe we'll see a ghost of history past!!! This ride will be a shade of 300 miles round trip!!
