2025 Flatonia Overnight

Do you hear the Front Porch calling you?  Then that means the trip to the Historic Olle Hotel is beckoning you to sit, relax and rock on their famous front porch!!  A Chapter favorite, we will make this fun trip to Flatonia starting from the dealership at 7:30am sharp, on Friday, May 23. Along the way, you'll appreciate scenic routes and enjoy some delicious kolaches at our gas stop in La Grange. Gas up and walk over to Weikel's Bakery for a tasty kolache of your choice. Leaving La Grange, there's more back roads to ride along past a couple of Painted Churches and a trip over the Piano Bridge.  Once back on the main roads again, we'll pass through Shulenburg taking even more back roads to Halletsville for a lunch stop.  After putting on the feed bag, we'll take a route that will pass the famous Spoetzel Brewery, home of Shiner Bock Beer, for a 19 mile ride to the Historic Olle Hotel.  KSD will be around 1:30 pm where the Olle front porch will welcome us.  Free time is yours until we meet for a group dinner at 6:00 pm at the Red Vault Bistro around the corner from the Hotel.  Then, it's Front Porch Time!

Saturday will offer a ride for some early Texas History at the mission / fort in Goliad.  Lunch will be around the courthouse square. Check out the "Hanging Tree" in front of the courthouse!  Then, it's back to the Olle to prep for the Chapter's famous "One Mile Ride" to Robert's Steakhouse.

After breakfast on Sunday morning, we'll go the most direct route back home.

NOTE:  The Olle has been sold to a new owner and the amount of available rooms has decreased slightly.  Check out their website, https://www.ollehotel.com/ , for available rooms. Arrival date is May 23, check-in 2pm. Departure date is May 25, check out 11am. Please call (361)772-0310 to make your reservation and use code "CTHOG" in order to get a room within our block. Room prices vary and our block of rooms expire April 23rd. Reservations cancelled prior to 48 hours will receive a full refund. A partial refund will be available if cancelled prior to 24 hours. NO refund for cancellations done 24 hours or less. So call early and make your reservations!
